Daily missive for Thursday the 18th of May.~by Peter Forster

Daily missive for Thursday the 18th of May.

Walking in the rain
Steaming, stifling
Water dripping
Hot and humid
Sweat running
Mingling
Trickling down
Beneath your blouse
Following the curve
Of the spine
So much nicer than mine.
Red hair damp
Against the back
Of your neck
It smells of
Citrus fruit
And sunshine
Walking beneath
A flowery umbrella
Your head bumping my
Shoulder.
Petite feet
Inappropriately dressed
Painted toe nails
Peeping out from
The open ends
Of black slingbacks
Our lips pressed
Together in a wet kiss
Bright eyes
Catching the light
A thousand shades
Of green
Oh what might have been.
A spring shower
So easily remembered
On a morning like this.
What bliss.
