Daily missive for Friday the 19th of May.~by Peter Forster

Daily missive for Friday the 19th of May.

My name is not Paul
This road
Has been well travelled
And is lit
With the bonfires
Of many who seek
What is plain to see.
The eyes of strangers
Glazed by misfortune
Miss many signs
Warning of danger
And wait for rescue
Their broken bones
Scattered by the way side.
Those who fell
Before the end was ever reached
Gave themselves up
To the ghost
Believed the gossip
Of a divine intervention
Resisted the taking
Of another step.
With the way
Strewn with pitfalls
Trouble is never a brief encounter
But a negotiation
There is no vanity
In the mechanics
Of motion
One foot in front
Of another
Is not choreography.
Move with me
When I go
This is no Argentinian
Tango
The music will not change
There are no new partners
With better coordination
This is not a performance
Or an interpretation
A turn around the floor
It is barely a minute waltz
Not a destination
But a last dance.
