Apologize (Another Impromptu poem)~by Melvina Germain

Apologize (Another Impromptu poem)

To raise your hand to another
is an insult through and through
to raise your voice in anger
is something I’d rather not do.
To ask forgiveness
of a brother or sister
and spread that brotherly love
it’s like gazing at the top of ones shoulder
staring into the peaceful eyes of a dove.
So I say to you this morn
who did you touch with words to offend,
perhaps soft words of apology
can glaze the eyes of an old, old friend.
What do you have to lose,
O maybe a wave off, or a simple no,
it’s up to you to choose,
will you step up to the plate
do this before it’s time to go
and walk through God’s Heavenly gate.
Awww peace you’ll find within
as your new life may soon begin.
