Summer choices…
Dawn comes over the horizon as usual
In its wake bringing modern devastation
Nary a soul would see it as crucial
On their run to the beach
— for some tan preservation.
Not enough sun crème is covering the skin
That are decorating the sands everywhere
And many get burned by staying there too long
In an unforgiving sunshine
— that is bleaching their hair.
The dark skin blotches come a long time after
So upsetting is what they now see
And in panic there’s no holiday-type laughter
As they go to confirm
— what they know it to be.
One wouldn’t want to get all Victorian though
About what on the beach one should wear
But perhaps in the areas once covered by clothes
We should buy lots of sun crème
— and rub it in there.
