SONG OF MONSOON(7) RAIN THIS YEAR~by Anil Kumar Panda

SONG OF MONSOON(7)
RAIN THIS YEAR

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, grass, outdoor and nature

Rain this year is enough to
Make ponds and rivers swell
Folks are feeling excited for
Seeds are going to sprout well

Folks have gone to fields
To till land and make furrows
Rain is pouring down fast
Filling holes, drains and burrows

Folks are happy this year
Tending cattle they happily walk
As women are sowing seeds
In between they do small talk

Folks have to sleep in peace
As they have enough to sell
They would pray for next year
When monsoon should not fail

Folks have not to worry now
Cows will have enough to eat
They won’t have to go out for
Work during summer and heat

Folks will see good days now
And they begin to sing aloud
Hand in hand they are dancing
As overhead hangs a dark cloud

Folks are going to celebrate
The absence of gloom in the air
With families and guests they have
Enough to spend in the village fair
