Daily missive for Wednesday the 2nd of August.~by Peter Forster

Daily missive for Wednesday the 2nd of August.

There is a hole in the clouds
Where the sky peeps through
Deeper than blue
An ocean dry
A dead sea
Salty dog free
Prisoners of Newton
With Apple
And global corps
Defined by gravity
There is no falling in.
It would be interesting
To try
Would I flounder
Or fly
Have a close encounter
With a satellite dish
A flying fish
Or a great white shark.
What will happen
When the sky
Grows dark
As it always does
As the earth turns
Too much sun
Makes the skin burn.
Cancer is a bitch
Just thinking about it
Brings on an itch
There is little humour
In a carcinoma
But one has to try.
There is so much more
Beneath the sky
Than a grey cloud
Chasing rainbows
Until raindrops
Fall as pennies
Into wishing wells
Church bells ring
As innocent
Children sing
Into the deep
For hope to find
Their souls to keep.
