SUNDHARA ~by Dipendra Kumar

/ From my upcoming poetry book /

Sundhara – a golden waterspout,
thirstier than ever,
Will humans give it some water?
Many years back,
through the womb of earth
like nurture of nectar
brook the icy Himalayan dew,
who lived around it
who were unknown travellers
who were of different ages
who was once a kid
who was a beauty queen,
satiated all their thirsts.
Sundhara – a golden waterspout
carved in gold
the openly placed ancient monument,
in spite of –
the nurture of Himalayan stream,
– is alone
in between all humans
– is thirsty
in between all humans.
