Daily missive breaks into the weekend for Saturday the 12th of August.~by ‎Peter Forster‎

Daily missive breaks into the weekend for Saturday the 12th of August.

Hypnotic
Sunlight flickers
Through tall trees
Fat fledglings
Fly solo
Changing shape
Building muscle
Wily old birds with
Empty nest syndrome
Swap migration stories
Furry caterpillars
Infected
With bacteria
Climb ever higher
A strange day
To explode
When the butterfly
Is far from ready.
Late summer
Frolics
Before a slowly
Doused sunset
Delays disappointment
Evening fire glow
The first glimpse of an
Autumnal colour
A precursor
To a cold night
Waxed moonbeams
Struggle to brighten
The darkest shadows
In the forest
As young lovers kiss
In a halo
Of fireflies
Having a last dance.
And magic persists
In the gentle swirl
Of a lowland
Mist
