Daily missive for Friday the 18th of August.~ Moving on.~by Peter Forster

Daily missive for Friday the 18th of August.
Moving on.

Clear it out
Empty the cupboards
Sweep the cobwebs
From the corners
The dust from
Old picture frames
Trace a finger
Through the ages
Linger longingly over
Familiar faces
Remember them well.
Flipping through
A book on art history
The page stops
At a Turner print
Of Margate bay
Violent sunburned skies
Mixed with spit
The old man
Lashed to a ships mast
Tied to a belief
He hoped would last
A storm could
Be captured perfectly
For posterity.
I see the like
In your work
A mindful caress of
Blood and bones
Life and death
The essence
Of you
In every stroke
And subtle shade
We must be bold
In their display
Such spirited beauty
Is effervescent
It will never fade.
