Delible
“Coming Home” by Kirby Kendrick
for better or worse
change is time
nothing lasts
very long
least of all
joy and pain
whose deepest
impressions
mark no more
than moments
mere brief
passing flicks
to the skin
of the mind
tomorrows
are never
the same
as todays
the sands
in the glass
are forever
in shift
the grains
never to gain
the same places
they held
life is naught
but the sum
of the things
that it feels
those things
may or may not
ever change
but the way
we perceive
them is new
every time
we take notice
we change
as time moves
ineluctably
different
from minute
to minute
we are always
becoming
the self
undergoing
its constant
revision
this explains
why decisions
made now
are so often
the source
of our later
regrets
why even our
chronic-most
suffering alters
with moods
of endurance
for better or worse
time is change
