Syntax
“The Poet” by Pablo Picasso
fingers of poets
manipulate syntax
tease tempos from
speakable sounds
godlike power of language
reserved unto hands
who create and destroy
allegorically lyrically
meaty with metaphor
poets at work
with candles and quills
unmoved movers
whose sly indirection
directs existentially
life and its living
draws subjects of mind
artful subtlety
makes them perceptible
products of poets
require interpretive reading
need someone subjective
to frame verses
inside familiar experience
someone content to be
guided by feeling
without need of knowing
where truth parts from lies
thank you for sharing my poem with your readers
