BEND~by Balachandran Nair

A root got story to tell bud
Of dirt mud ate, rocks insects met
Bud got story to tell branches
Of search for sun light, animal bite
Branch got story to tell fruit
Of parting spreading from wood, bend
Fruit got story to tell nut
Of protecting from hurt, feeding, grooming
Nut is christened Seed, got strong, ripe
Fallen to floor safe,
Flesh of fruit hurt, broke,
Son, I the Mother tree
Still bend of your weight I bore
Give you shade to rest, robust
Smiling with left out teeth, few leaves
Unknown of your plan to usher me
To old-age home with company unknown.
