WINTER WOES ~by Jyotirmaya Thakur

WINTER WOES

Image may contain: 1 person, outdoor

When you are faraway on winter days,
Your memories haunt me in endless ways.
Early morning I see your face in falling dews,
Waving at me in alluring smile in misty views.

When the sun shines disillusioned am I,
Why I gave you my heart when you were to fly.
My longing eyes fill with tears to the brim,
I float in cold waters of sorrows stream.

Recollect our days of togetherness by sea,
When we held on to each other endlessly.
When days seemed short and nights small,
When summer was hot in romantic rainfall.

Autumn glimpse an erotiic overhaul,
When our love clings on every leaf in fall,
Winter woes on its melancholy wing,
Waiting for spring to renew idle swing.

Our love is strong like gold that glitters,
Like light from shadows our love never withers.
During some nocturnal black snug and warm,
You will travel furtively back on our lawn.

And hold me tight in breathless embrace,
Your soft hands locked tight on my face.
And declare your love time and again.
The pain of love is then a sweet gain.
