Daily missive breaks into the weekend for Saturday the 18th of November.~by Peter Forster

Daily missive breaks into the weekend for Saturday the 18th of November.

I am unknown
The tear on the face
Of starvation
The flies on the corpse
Of a baby
Fighting with crows
Weep for me
I am rested
In a sanctuary of peace
A touching image
Left to lie
In darkness
My juices
Soak into your carpet
In the shadow
Of a coffee table hardback.
Photographs of exotic plants
Heliotrope
More than a garden favourite
It is a blood stone
I am a little known fact
Lay me out
Present the truth
In breathable snippets
Over breakfast
With sound bites
I am consumption
Choke on the irony
Of decay
In the heat of an arid desert
Whilst drinking
A cold beer
Give me a minute
Of silence
Perhaps you will hear
Distant cries
In the whisper
Of a tumble dryer
Find solace in the unknown
When it remains
Beyond the reach
Of arm’s length
Think of me
Even for a moment
I am a closed casket
I sleep for you
Lower your voice
It is the least you can do.
