Arthur’s Seat~by Paul F. Lenzi

Arthur’s Seat

arth

Arthur’s Seat viewed from central Edinburgh

a saddle of stone

to settle the moon

over Camelot

spilling its light

through fey mists

in contention with

darkly cast spells of

Morgana and Merlin

a sentinel mountain

amid the mythology

guarding real secrets

of Artúr mac Aedan

the blood and the bones

of his warrior legend

lay lost to the centuries

somewhere beneath

the dimmed trace

of the Antonine wall
