the golden lady~by Prince Ibekwe

EKPHRASTIC POEM

the golden lady

Image may contain: 1 person, indoor

lit with roman architecture
arch links both points on the wall
chandeliers woos the hall in beauty
flowers embellishes the fair

lo, a lady of immense comeliness
stood in the hall
as jewel her embers
scintillate across the room

poised for the feast
she wore a shimmering persian robe
made from the skin of a bison
roaming the robeless ground in affluence

her head flew into the air
as she walked gracefully
into the theatre of irresistible flames

her hair sing songs of roses
with her earlobe dangling
with rings from the seas of
lebanon

nostrils drilled alongside
the tasteful mouth of desire

elegant and famished she is
awaiting the oil of the king
wrapped in an elvish calabash
of purity and chastity
