THE MASSACRE~by Rajendra Padhi

THE MASSACRE

Image may contain: one or more people, fire and night

The day grows like a serpent
filling our blood in a sting of poison
Killing people in mosque, temples
And churches
The axes in their tongues
Hack hearts and wound souls
In bullets and bombs
people drip blood in the holy land
When we
Sing in praises for global peace.

They envy peace
They envy love
In the name of God
They kill his children.

They turn out to be bulls fighting
Jeered each other
in jealousy and rage

“You have come naked
and you will go naked,
O naked one!
Don’t be thorny for each other.”

But
Once again corpses were burnt
An unpleasant smell of men
Wrinkled the noses of animals.

There are people
like frantic rivers in a flood
like rocks and boulders
like ghosts in perpetual screams
Surging a sea of illusion
on our way to peace.
