A WINTRY FEELING ~by Bipul Kalita

The wintry moon
prompts haughty eyes
tempts sightless might
to creep over uneven chests
to peep into foggy destinations
that boneless creatures target
forgetting their original homes

I touch my backbone
I touch my eyelids, lips, nostrils etc.
to examine heartfelt feelings and desires
to declare how they spring erect for motions
after being crushed frequently by alien thoughts

The wintry moon
reminds me of my original home
reminds me to distance my sights from sighs
with the consolation that truth will prevail upon fakes
with the resolution that faith will take me to my destination
paving ways through the thorny bushes to the finest bowers

unhealthy creatures bark in darkness
unhealthy treasures of immature strength
try to move me to the endless source of pride
try to store in me the ultimate crown for the cowards
but the three fingers pointed towards my chest poke
when I point my forefinger to other’s nose with stern eyes
