BETRAYALS~by Jyotirmaya Thakur

BETRAYALS

Image may contain: one or more people, people standing, night and outdoor

In this world of easy betrayals,
Shadows of ego is bigger than citadels ,
Jealousy is based on flimsy nonsense,
Distrust erupts in volcanic frictions.

Darkness looms large on the canvas,
Desolate clouds hang on the horizon,
Sunshine laughter is destroyed in liaison,
Pathos takes refuge in such domains.

Heart’s cheerless songs saturate in sadness,
Cruelty reigns supreme in loneliness,
Eyes lose their lustre in wet emotions,
Laments utter despair devoid of affection.

The clipped bird bleeds in desolation,
Cordiality commits suicide in frustration,
Tears have dried compressed as clouds,
Burned dreams charred ashes fill deep holes.

Homeless tramp has nowhere to go,
A rudderless boat no shores to row,
Hopes undead descending downhill,
Pathways prolonged by melancholy will.

Rocks of obstacles gradually give away,
Trodding traveller approaches light in front,
Patience is a virtue awaits for a better day,
Travails of silence confidently confronts.
