Daily missive for Thursday the 7th of November.~by Peter Forster

Daily missive for Thursday the 7th of November.

Walk on by
Cross on the other side
Button that lip
Stitch it closed
Silence that voice
Before the words form
Nothing good will come
From complaining
Satisfaction is a guarantee
It is written.
When a majority
Are known to agree
Everything must be good
Look at what happened
To the neighbourhood
Take pride
The old community
Has become gentrified
Be nice
Accept progress at any price
Forget the minority
In a land of plenty
There is no excuse
For failure
No tolerance
Of ne’re do wells.
Blame the victim
It is a new game
You can watch
On television
From the comfort of home
Until the Bailiff
Comes to your door
The reminders
Litter the floor
Over reaching
Your limit
Making a hash
Of the cashless society
Sounds a little like
A crash course in
Trash talk
But in this economy
Of scale
We are only as good
As our last sale
Beware of the buyout clause
We are all in this
Until a better offer
Comes along.
Take pause
In the thought
That the little rain
We agreed
Would need to fall
To keep all in balance
Has grown into a torrent
And unless your grip is strong
You can be swept away
Just as easily
As your neighbour
Who then
Will be your saviour.
