Daily missive for Tuesday the 19th of December,
There is a storm coming
Pale against the horizon
A horseman
Barely visible
To the casual glance
As grey as the
Rolling clouds
He flickers
In and out of focus
Lost in the
Shimmer of heat
The haze of dust
The stench
Of a carnivore
Does he approach
With purpose
Will he know my name
What will he find
Behind our
Fractured wall
We can shore it up
In self defence
But he is thunder
And will strike
With lightning speed
Should that be
The essence of
His last command
Before the wind
Is whipped into a frenzy
And the reaping begins
Even he is a spectator
When a storm breaks
It is indiscriminate
Give him shelter
A little kindness
Goes a long way
Toward addressing
The balance
In a recount
Even a stranger
Can become
A friend
And in adversity
We find the courage
To face the fear
Once known
The fight is almost won
