Shadows.~by Mandour Saleh Hikel

Shadows.

I have lived my whole life
Praying for peace
Fighting hatred and violence
With words and prayers
And every single thought
Of mind-peacefulness….
That my heart can release
I’ve tried, And tried , And tried…
To cast a shadow…
THE SHADOW OF YOUR HEALING SMILE
That I have been looking for,
Since you’ve suddenly disappeared
THAT SHADOW…

The shadow of tolerance
To bridge over
The mighty waves of
Hatred and violence
That sweeps our world
Murdering children’s innocence
I’ve tried, And tried , And tried…
Till my heart was bleeding
And my soul was dressed in gloominess
I was about to give up
But all of the sudden
It seemed that heaven
Has responded to my
Prayers and appeals
With a gift that was meant to be real
With the shadow I’ve been looking for

The shadow of your smile
That so tenderly…
Touch and heal
The sorrows and grief
Of bereaved mothers and children
With the shadow…
That shadow…
THE SHADOW OF YOUR SMILE
THAT TURNS ALL MY WRONGS TO WRIGHTS
AND THE WORLD DREAM OF PEACE…
TO REAL.
