Peace on Earth From Friend and Foe

A glowing light , this Xmas night .
To cease the fire , this peaceful sight

The stage was set , for guns to tilt .For soldiers mire , to wane and wilt .

The killing fields , for now reset .
This bloody war , we can’t forget .

Friends and foe , young men at play . A game of football , on Xmas day .

Escape from the deadly furor of war . Young men in youth on battlefields ashore .

Men’s hearts did sing , below dark clouds , Aside silent cannons at rest from loud .

This Christmas message , cast so long ago , peace on earth From friend and foe .
