The Greatest Sacrifice~by Fred Tunks

The Greatest Sacrifice

Image may contain: one or more people and outdoor

Onto the skip and down we go
About a half a league or so
Into the body of mother Earth
Metals and Jewls about her girth
Mortals craving while Mothers cry
Another Son just waved goodbye
The timbers shuttered the family moans
The rock it crumbles the mountain groans
Roaring thunder shades of grey
Straight to hell upon this day
He took the risk and paid the price
To feed his children and his wife
A little more than beans and rice
His was the greatest
