NOT A FAREWELL ~by Jyotirmaya Thakur

NOT A FAREWELL

Image may contain: 2 people

I leave but with a heavy heart,
As I open the door to depart,
I will always remember the apple tart,
And the affection filled cart.

You come to pack my presents,
As I catch a glimpse of remembrance,
Gifts exchanged with grievance,
From far away places of closed fences.

Tea room buzzing with hospitality,
T-shirts of cultural exchange fraternity,
Poet’s, writers of artistic industry ,
Leaving one by one in sad vicinity.

Dry petals expansion of experience,
Shadows of light lurch in darkness,
Restless mind asleep in consciousness,
Personal awakening in another horizon.

Landed not so far away to see the end,
Love is the word with longing tend,
To turn back reach and touch to see,
That I changed ceaselessly to be me.
