Aunty Mable~by Patrick Kevin O’Shea

Aunty Mable

Aunty Mable
Old and meek
Takes her pension
Every week

Theresa May
Stops “Tripple Lock”
From Mable’s table
Dwindling stock
Then squeeze the poor
To feed the greed
And rob the old
To prune her feed
Take Mables house
Where she has grown
To pay for care
Then grasp her home
Retort to cavort
The rich supreme
Then wine and dine
Free posh cuisine
Cutback with austerity
For all not true
Then feed the pockets
The elite on cue

Summer dies
Then Winters born
In long cold nights
The aged , forlorn
Aunty Mable
Old and meek
Dwindling pension
Every week
Counting coins
For fuel to blow
As austerity kicks in
She turns it low
She sits at home
So cold in strife
As Mable breathes
Her last breath of life …….
