A DANCE TO REMEMBER ~by Jyotirmaya Thakur

A DANCE TO REMEMBER

Image may contain: one or more people and text

The sizzling music and dancing floor,
Smiling bodies swaying in their flow,
My lover beckons to dance once more,
Dancing in the rain like we did before,
Flashing sparkles of heated feet in a row,
A pageantry of lightning skills on show.

The salty bouts of summer rain showers,
Drops twinkling on blossoms wet bowers,
Brimming legs fade in muscular laughters,
Tapping rhythms as if climbing on ladders,
A rolling fog on fuming red lips gathers,
Forming landscapes on canvas matters.

I learned to dance away storms with you,
You hold me tight and drag me through ,
My brain goes dead as my steps renew,
I lumber along with energy refuelled,
Pampering whispers patching up anew,
We shine in togetherness eternally true.

You hold me hard as I stumble and lurch,
Lead me on grasping with gazing concern,
Light of kind motivation sparks to search,
A drowning spirit you up lift to emerge ,
All timid coyness in seconds disappears,
In your secure arms a born dancer appears.
