READING IN BED~by Jyotirmaya Thakur

Woke up this morning with a book in bed,
As I had slept with the writer in my mind
A strong desire to lie propped up in a tilt,
All day and read, burrowed under a quilt.
Then looked out at the window pane,
The Sunrays prancing through the curtain rails,
Beckoning to rise and shine through the frosty day,
Enticing to explore the gardens floral display.
My loved one awake, reading a newspaper,
Had been hanging at my door forever.
Staying tuned to my private endeavor
Transferred to the world of fantastic fervour.
What life could be like so many years back
Pages leading to some magical shack.
The invisible, silent world seems so real,
Binding together distant creatures unreal.
An utopia of peace where ends all strife,
A refuge from almost all miseries of life.
