LIFE IN DESERT~by Jagjit Singh Jandu

Can one imagine?
A tall tree
Standing in a desert
Floating free in air
Facing winds stably
With its big branches gone off
Small ones swinging freely
Singing lullabies
For the brown leaves
Hugging them affectionately
What a miracle,It is!
As the tree has lost its feet
It’s roots having been alienated
By storms of the time waves
It has even lost love
Of Mother Earth
But it perhaps has a strong heart
And courage to fight
Against all odds of relations
Never bothering for
Who may water its roots?
Who may keep its feet
Held strongly with the soil
How the seasons treat it
One may salute to its strong will
To sustain all hardships in life
Living with all its smiles
All alone
Without support of its arms
Or so called related wings
Of worldly relations !
My beings sees it
As it’s mentor and
A light-house showing the way
How one should face life
To sustain peace & survive
Marching to attain one’s destiny
