on this red day of the heart ~by Prince Ibekwe

I wrote this poem on February 14th, but today I give you my heart.

on this red day of the heart

Image may contain: sky, horse, tree, outdoor and nature

on this red day of the heart
I am sending you grains of letters
words that would unleash my warmth
and thoughts to you

on this comely evening of love
I am sending you oils of fidelity
pages that would roar my rich
treasures and sacks of admiration to you

between the vestibule and altar
of my being I offer a cereal
sacrifice of flames burning
with sincere desire for you

solemnly I kneel and administer
sweet wine to you flanked by
a hundred priests and ministers
singing sweet songs as the twilight
voices of the spirits

I offer you green vintages
of poems written on olive
trees planted at the epicenter
of my soul

you are my garment
of enchanted beauty

I love you…
