 “RUNAWAY HEART”~by Martin Gedge

Youth off the rails and wind in your sails
running in tears of the track
breaking the mold to open unfold
and no way of getting it back
free as a bird not spoken a word
to leave with one soul on the line
feet on the ground a train out of town
racing and chasing your mind
the touch and the feel for something so real
triggers the strings of your heart
from light of this room through tunnels of gloom
it’s the anchor that’s tearing apart
you seek and you find past cities and signs
are passing like storms in the night
and the stop and the go will apparently show
are the things that just fade out of sight
the answers are there but the cupboards are bare
no hide or a hair of a trace
are you seeing it clear when you look in the mirror
cause it’s written all over your face
when you step on that train all the heartache and pain
will be running in the right or the wrong
the choice that you make is the chance that you take
the moment you chose to get on…
