Twelve months four

Here’s to the humble daisy
as April comes at last
Perhaps now the sun will shine
with winter months now past
Goodness knows, we need it
coats and jumpers need a rest
for now it’s time for warmer things
and times we love the best
So, welcome first of April
and with the daisy may you bring
the sunshine we have waited for
to give us cause to sing
