“MY WALKING HOME”~by Martin Gedge

POEM “MY WALKING HOME” by martin gedge

Image may contain: one or more people and shoes

Out on my own
with eyes to the sky
watching this earth
like cars passing by
seeing the sun
with the wind in my face
the world in my hands
and my feet in one place
setting my sights
on the vast open road
just keeping in mind
all the things I was told
a night full of stars
on the edge of the moon
will render my heart
and bring it back soon
in a wish I would change
if I could turn back the clock
through the eyes of a child
and take a moment to stop
for the lessens I’ve learned
would have helped me right now
the what , where and when
to the why, who, and how
each path that you choose
in this life that is broken
will mend all the wounds
and leave a mark as a token
for the rules of the heart
to wherever you roam
though you feel far away
your not far from home….
