“MEAN MACHINE” ~by Martin Gedge

POEM “MEAN MACHINE” by martin gedge

Image may contain: one or more people and closeup

Feast your eyes to press and purge
deliver demon speed
rush the fuel and feed the purse
and let the diamonds bleed
suffer well the call to arms
and face the changing tune
race the mind to gather thoughts
and shine the rusty spoon
feel the grit refine the spoke
and make the wheels turn
raise the flame a light the wick
and watch the sockets churn
wipe the spit and pump the gas
and rise to fear the blade
rip the chase and strike the cord
to slice a finer grade
piece to pulse the savage heart
that beats the frozen face
the red of eye will never die
to run the human race
come to fight as soldier steel
to break the stone of wall
and cast upon the age of man
to watch a nation fall
brave of kill and to embrace
with engines full of steam
my high regard to cool your jets
cause I’m a mean machine….
