“THE SAILS OF HAMPSHIRE”~by Martin Gedge

POEM “THE SAILS OF HAMPSHIRE” by martin gedge

Image may contain: sky, cloud, ocean, outdoor, water and nature

Bring on the sunsets
crack the sky and let the curtains down
circle the moons and feather the clouds
shoot sparklers across the night
steer my heart and
shine my way onto a valiant sea
oh dear light house
beauty beam to dance the midnight air
beneath illuminated stars
and throwing wishes to the wind
mermaids and white pearls
riches of treasures
to lure hungry hearts and open eyes
bask in the white sand
under the shower rays
feeding air to my wings
and a cool breath of the fresh
til morning clear
as far as my view can see
I am here face to the heavens
it all it’s mast
blazing through horizons
on a course of adventure
closing the nerves to rest my soul
out in the calm of the open
I am free
to sail on…
