“WHERE ANGELS FEAR TO TREAD “~by Martin Gedge

POEM “WHERE ANGELS FEAR TO TREAD ” by martin gedge

Image may contain: one or more people, cloud, sky, bird and outdoor

Blessed are these fallen angels
who shade the eyes this dead of night
hearts to line like broken fences
closing wings to black the light
fire burns into the mercy
sparks to flame like butterflies
shake away the ailing feathers
that fall upon the earth and die
softly fade into the shadows
to lie in grace in sorrows song
let it sing to all the heavens
to open arms where you belong
weep for me into the garden
shake the fear and gathered dust
for each to carry in thoughts and prayers
the deep within will never rust
don’t be afraid in years of passing
for when the final curtain falls
just live into a frame of memories
and put those pictures to the walls
and in this space of moment silent
and taken from the bible said
you cover up your frozen smiles
and take them to your resting bed…
