POEM ” DARK SHELTER ” by martin gedge

No automatic alt text available.

Close my eyes and bleed these walls
leave nothing to undone
for every crevice that it leaks
your soon to swallow some
shadow me with blacken heart
to rest my wicked soul
hold me down before I feed
cause like a weed I grow
harbor all my inner fears
and chain them to these hands
picture me to often scratch
these fingers made of crayons
dare to see the broken light
by passing window frames
I’m a face with evil smiles
but no one knows my name
clench a grip of peeling skin
that burns away the thoughts
a socket hole for eyes to go
to show my dirty spots
but in this vast a wrecking ball
no place you’ve seen before
for just a whisper if you would
will open up my door…..
