LINES ON MY FACE~by Jyotirmaya Thakur

LINES ON MY FACE

My life has travelled deeply far and wide,
Without a choice I have walked for miles
Through crevices of my face moments imprinted
Every twist and turn in my heart is etched.

Everyday is an experiment on spoils of yesterday ,
Entrepreneur spirit of childhood on the way,
Sometimes it’s an adventure of different sort
And somewhere in between it seems to fall apart.

Life has played many tricks smartly up street
I have multiple complaints with time when I meet
I remember when I played hide and seek
How I chose dark corners under the sheet.

Now while I go through my own storms
How good I feel if I keep someone warm
Trials and travails have changed for better
Although not fair , I like to smile in the mirror.

When young I had learned to dance in the rain
Now I have learnt to write that slides through the brain
Now my choices are simple and honest
I live the truth of life in an unknown forest.

The truth exonerates and convicts the fake
I am ready to confront the unbearable stake
Miracles happen when you replace your tears
With prayers and faith all your terrible fears.
