FAMILY SCARS~by Jyotirmaya Thakur

How ironic it is that people we love
Are often the ones we treat the worst
With most important folks our life is tough
While the guests who come temporarily
We greet with a smile and treat politely.

The best attire and the sweetest face
Are often to unknown people shown
A careless attitude and frowning face
Is thrown towards our very own
Shouldn’t we our steps retrace ?

One great truth in life I have found
The only folks who really wound
Are those we love the most
So often we get hurt here and there
But it pains most for whom we care.

Any man you thoroughly despise
May cause anger and annoyance arise
But these things are only passing ills
The grievous wounds which really drills
Is often dealt by one’s we love the best.

The feud continues till the tomb
True hearts with love seldom bloom
Alas ! It is a touching tragedy
That sooner or later facts explain
The ones we hold close give us pain.
