you’ll betray
your inner life
your inner thoughts 
your soul

see

the cats don’t talk
don’t smile
don’t complain
don’t cry

only their eyes change

from the lake of innocence
into blue sadness
then into morning joy as they
chase each other
into pain
after a fight
and helplessness
when I go away

don’t speak

petals are falling off the rose
red flakes

it’s late spring
