Basement Inventory*~by Constancio Sulapas Asumen Jr

CCCLXXVIII ~> Basement Inventory*
(Opus378 ~> Basement Inventory)
The lost cause that keeps you up every night,
Scours the dark chambers of your reverie.
Neither it goes away without a fight;
Nor volunteers to nudge your memory,
To shed some light into your quandary:
The twists and turns causing your blunderings
Prove gleanings from your own meanderings!
Behind the shadows in nostalgia lane
You dwell tentatively anonymous.
Keeping the balance between the profane
And the affectedly magnanimous,
You manage to remain autonomous:
The days of yore are treasured having gone,
To claim their rightful place beyond the sun!
Blast from the past always proves threatening.
When you’re uncertain of what you might find,
Hidden in dormant silence deafening,
The possibilities boggle the mind
Of both the trusting and suspicious kind:
The verdict you sustain on Judgement Day
By edict shall remain sans chance to sway!
