Daily missive for Tuesday the 14th of August.~by Peter Forster

Daily missive for Tuesday the 14th of August.

Listen closely to
The incessant chatter
Of restless rainfall
Diverted by rainbows
Into dreamland
As the sky opens
A pleasure principle
The rain a by-product
Of convection
Is caressing and undressing me
A gentle shower
To wash away the blues
Gives way to
A raucous melody
In glorious ragtime
Dance with me
In standing water
Splash around
Be like children
In a play pool
It never really happens
But it should
Perhaps the world
Would gradually improve
It might take a long long time
But if, when it rains
We think of heaven
The music might start to play
And magically, every day
As pretty pennies fall
It will be as colourful
As a Hollywood
Hayday
In cinemascope.
