“THE PUMPKIN DAMSEL”~by Martin Gedge

POEM “THE PUMPKIN DAMSEL” by martin gedge

Image may contain: outdoor

The shady mist that bleeds the ground
on a dark and desolate creepy town
the fable told of such a beast
who cares for you not in the least
her dark and scary evil grin
with bloodshot eyes and ravaged skin
her gnarly teeth the thirst for youth
will spin a web denying truth
to lure and rake the heavy souls
who lay the dead in barren holes
and on the eve of Halloween
answer to a wet boys dream
and each to rip from battered heart
the need to fill her missing part
and those who pay the deadly toll
piece by piece to make her whole
a lion wait to scorn the weak
which each and every fresh of meat
the beauty wakes to walk the walk
and feed off all the body talk
and from the patch the pumpkins rise
beware the bitch who tells no lies
cause taken in as you will see
a thousand deaths will walk with thee….
