DREAMS OF DAWN~by Saroj K Padhi

DREAMS OF DAWN

Image may contain: sky, ocean, cloud, outdoor, nature and water

Dreams sprout like seeds of watermelon,
in hibernation on river bank, that awake
under some secret promptings from an October sky
to love of an unforeseen Summer that overhangs
from a distant horizon’s hazy eye ;

ecstatic cotton flowers ! they take wings to fly;
wild, indisciplined ducks of midnight fish pond
they wander like thoughts of a cold wintry night
before the sky at dawn with a dark crimson they dye

a spectrum of rainbow across an untimely shower
a wish for rain cherished in dark corner of a lonesome eye
a dance of the peacock, in wild longings as they cry
igniting a blaze in the forest’s diseased thigh;

don’t know why dreams propel nights to hugs from my dawn
as with new meanings of love dance each ray of my new morn.
