Daily missive for Thursday the 22nd of November.~by Peter Forster

Daily missive for Thursday the 22nd of November.

Words burrow
Like worms
Deep into the brain
Eating up space
Filling it with
The beauty of life
Constructing a memory
From the debris
Character from detritus
Building blocks
Full of ideas
Thoughts have wings
Eager to fly
Tethered by indecision
They screech ever louder
Pecking at their cage
Indignant at their confinement
Set them free
Before they escape
Cursing your name
Not so strange
To be at odds
With self
Fighting to understand
The distortion
Between words and the meanings
They create.
When cognition
Is mediated
By experience
And thoughts fly
In the face of observation
It becomes harder
To establish
Critical thinking,
With every passing day
More lost than found
What is left of
These words
Become me.
