The flame in my heart

The flame in my heart was always flickering
waiting to burst into flames
hoping for a love that would come
and then you came.
You came along and set my heart on fire
with love and desire
my heart soared to the heaven above
and I knew i found love.
The fire in my heart
kept on burning for you
with a love so true
and I thought it would burn forever
But i was so wrong
you turned out to be the wrong one
You said you loved me too
and i believed you
but i was too blind to see
you were never in love with me
and suddenly
the fire died
and my heart turned cold like snow
no longer it glowed
it filled with pain
and i wondered if
there will ever be a flicker again
and if once more
it will burst into flames.
