Now bare they stand,
Now bare they stand, in glory still,
From green to red, now brown they lie,
Leaves on the ground, a carpet form,
Footsteps softly falling on them.
Times have changed, will change again
We mourn not, for what has past is gone,
There’s more to come, each a beauty
Glory seen in the changing seasons.
Once more will new leaves sprout
Cover the earth with soothing green
The air will change, bring warmth with it
The birds will come out and sing for us.
For each change, there’s gratitude offered
Like the tree we too see change in life
At every stage there’s beauty new
Till finally we lay down and rest.
