Spirits with Voices~by Patrick Kevin O’Shea

Spirits with Voices

Image may contain: 1 person

Hunters and gatherers as they harvest to keep.

Their natural existence gone forever fast asleep.

Thirty thousand years or more from where they came from.

At one with their kingdom but now they are anon.

They lived off the land and the herds roaming free.

But they are now nowhere just dark shadows to see.

Red Indian generation full of colour and life.

Entrapped in reservations down trodden with strife…

Last of the true Pagans their spirit still survives.

Under stars twinkling brightly beneath breath taking skies.

Listen to the wind blow across wide open plains.

Carrying nomadic voices from where they once came.

Took only their need feed aside others to share.

Infinite wisdom respecting all creatures with fair…

This days generation eyes well up to weep.

Their natural existence gone
Forever fast asleep…
