“Horicon Marsh and Willard’s Tap”~by Rick Halliburton

There was a time many years ago when my Father and I would go hunting on a regular basis in Horicon Marsh Wisconsin and my Uncle Howie’s brother had a tavern in Horicon Town his name was Willard…..

Horicon Marsh and Willard’s Tap
A time and place recalled
When Dad and I would seek the skies for ducks and geese to fall.
Brother of friend Willard would tend
His tavern in the Town.
And after hunts through door in front
We’d gather and sit down
To reminisce ’bout birds we missed
To have some food and drink…
As Willard would smile we’d stay a while and just relax and think
’bout good ol’ days gone away as now these are so too.
As both now gone I stand alone and share these times with you.
Of Horicon Marsh and Willard’s Tap
A time and place recalled
When Dad and I would seek the skies
For ducks and geese to fall.
