Slumbering Passion~by Annie Johnson

Slumbering Passion

No photo description available.

Hesitant the breath of night;
Poised the fragile light of dawn.
Splendid the dreaming hours
Deep in sleep and wrapped
In flowing memories, calling
From the world of shadowed smiles
And electric currents, surging
From the soft truth of your eyes.
You disturb my slumbering hours
With bouquets of fragrant desire
Strewn around my languid soul.
You light my sensuous form
With a living fire that never cools;
A flame that does not slumber
Nor burn away to time’s ashes.
Living being, of starlight and blood,
How far you’ve come, dear silhouette,
To stand in reality’s dreams; to step
Lightly through the moonlit corridors
Of my slumbering passion, and ignite
The core of my being with your love.
